Mel Gibson has received many publicity from the scandal between him and Oksana Grigorieva, his ex-girlfriend. It is all bad. Lawsuits and a domestic violence charge are both looking like they might happen. A domestic dispute, or at least rumors of one, would be one thing. There was also the release of the “Mel Gibson tapes” which doesn’t help This could seriously hurt his career.
The Mel Gibson tapes – a withering verbal assault
It’s too bad he didn’t figure out how to sell the “Mel Gibson tapes” himself. If he trademarked the phrase, he might even make a fortune. However, assuming they’re real (see Radaronline.com), this may have done more damage to his career than he can be able to recuperate from. His agency, William Morris Endeavor, already fired him. It is hard to be an actor or director without the SAG card you get from your agent. Gibson may be seeing the end of his career.
There is only so much tolerance
After this serious “Mel Gibson tapes” problem, they can’t film a “Lethal Weapons 5″ any longer. People can say anything they want, even if it is misguided. No matter what they say, the government won’t be able to actually do anything. Other consequences may arise though.
Why we get from the crazy person?
Does the name John Rocker ring any bells? The Atlanta Braves kicked out the baseball player who made racist comments. Look at Rush Limbaugh. After the Donovan McNabb debacle, he was immediately shown the door by ESPN. Larry Johnson, the NFL player, is an additional example. Following the homophobic comments he said, he was released immediately. He also was not playing very well. Just because someone is racist or prejudice doesn’t mean they can stay around working individuals.
