The iPhone 4 antenna issue may not warrant a recall in Apple’s estimation, but that isn’t really because they’re too afraid of the cost of such action. The iPad made Q3 2010 a tremendous success for the business, writes PC Magazine. Apple made $ 3.25 billion net profit on revenue of $ 15.7 billion. Yet that may not even be probably the most explosive news coming out of the land of Steve Jobs. A “highly placed source” claims T-Mobile may take on iPhone 4 sales by the 3rd quarter of this year, according to Cult of Mac. Furthermore, PC World reports that this merger is 80 percent certain.
T-Mobile would become a player if iPhone 4 comes over
T-Mobile would surely rise to the top within the U.S. with iPhone 4. Frequency issues could get within the way, indicates PC World. As the carrier uses a non-standard band (1700/2100 MHz) and it is unknown whether the iPhone 4 will work at the lower end of T-Mobile’s frequency range, there could be major reception issues.
Could simply be one more iPhone 4 rumor, you know
PC World reminds us that Cult of Mac’s predictions do not always stick, so do not get too excited yet. Yes, T-Mobile may have the available bandwidth for the customer load, as they currently have fewer subscribers than AT and T or Verizon, and yes, T-Mobile isn’t fighting with Steve Jobs. Another plus on T-Mobile’s side is that Apple already works with its parent business (Deustche Telekom) in Europe.
Are you ready for the T-Mobile jump?
Realistically, T-Mobile won’t have bandwidth to spare for long if Apple dives into their pool. Antenna issues aside, iPhone 4 remains wildly popular. Legions of devoted fans have kept iPhone 4 standing toe-to-toe with Droid and America’s top smartphones. But maybe you see it differently; let us know.
